● All items of clothing should be a solid color (i.e. no stripes, embellishments, decorative piping, design, logos, or labels).

● With the exception of Trinity’s approved logo or spirit wear, all shirts worn in the classroom must have sleeves and collars. Turtlenecks are considered collars.

Dress Up Day clothing includes: sweater, dress, skirts, dress pants, dress shirt. All clothing must follow dress code rules.

Uniform dress shall be worn for field trips (e.g. visits to the library, museums, etc.). If another dress is more appropriate for a field trip, approval must be obtained from the Principal.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

Proper attire and good grooming has definite bearing in providing an atmosphere conducive to effective education. For this reason, proper appearance should be guided by the following simple standards: neat, clean, modest, good taste, and functional. Clean, well-groomed natural-colored hair and practical nails are expected. Frequent bathing, daily brushing of teeth, and the use of deodorant should be encouraged to form personal hygiene habits. Clothes should not be wrinkled, shoes tied, and the rule of modest dress be followed.

GYM CLOTHES

Students in grade 6-8 are required to wear gym clothes for physical education classes. All students must purchase a pair of TLS PE shorts from the office. Students may wear any

appropriate long-sleeve or short-sleeve t-shirt for PE class.

CONSEQUENCES FOR DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS

The dress code will be enforced. If a student wears clothing not prescribed by the dress code, parents will be contacted to bring dress code appropriate clothing for their child.. In some cases, the student may be asked to change prior to attending class. Interpretation and enforcement of the Standardized Dress Policy is at the administration’s discretion.
